MiTek’s ExtraHeavy HiLoad Girder Bracket secures heavily loaded trusses, like truncated girder and secondary girder trusses to primary girder trusses. It will support trusses 35mm to 90mm thick and is suitable for girder truss bottom chords of 130mm and deeper. The ExtraHeavy HiLoad Girder Bracket has a long cleat to prevent the twisting of the bottom chord of the girder truss. Plus, the supported truss can be located on either side of the cleat, making the location of the bracket much simpler. The cleat also has a cut away section, which avoids the possibility of interference with ceiling linings.

The MiTek JoistStrap is used to fix ceiling joists to hanging beams. A built-in locator nail ensures the JoistStrap can be easily positioned and attached to a member prior to final nailing. MiTek’s Hip Girder Bracket assists in the fixing of a diagonal hip truss or hip rafter to a girder truss bottom chord in conjunction with a MiTek FastFit MkIII or MiTek FastFit MkIV Girder Bracket.

MiTek FastFit MkIII & FastFit MkIV Girder Brackets are compact brackets that fix trusses to the bottom chord of girder trusses or to the face of beams. They include a tab to locate the bracket, which also reduces rotation of the supporting member.

MiTek’s FastFit MkIII Cyclonic Girder Bracket is used to fix a standard truss to a girder truss and is available with an optional locator and anti-rotation tab. It is also able to accommodate scissor trusses with a bottom chord pitch up to 20 degrees. FastFit MkIII brackets can be installed with either M12 bolts or MiTek anti-split self-drilling screws for speedy installation. With the addition of washers and supplementary screws, they are suitable to restrain large uplift loads experienced in cyclonic areas.

MiTek’s FastFit MkIV Girder Bracket secures a girder truss supporting a particularly high load to the side of a secondary girder truss bottom chord using either MiTek FastFit anti-split screws or M12 bolts. It provides a much more economical connection than heavy steel brackets with similar design capacities.

MiTek’s BraceWall Bracket connects the ceiling diaphragm to the top of non-load bearing walls and enables lateral loads to be distributed into bracing walls in accordance with AS1684.2 and AS1684.3 “Residential Timber-Framed Construction” clause 8.3.6.9 and AS1684.4 clause 8.3.2.8. MiTek CreeperConnectors connect jack trusses to hip trusses. They can also connect half trusses or cut-off trusses to boomerang girder trusses. MiTek’s Concealed Purlin Cleat is an economical (hidden) bracket for fixing purlins to the top of rafters, or trusses to the top of walls to resist wind uplift. They provide a fast and easy method of anchoring purlins, rafters and trusses to the top supports away from view. Concealed Purlin Cleats are also useful for fixing timber plates on top of block walls. MiTek recommends installers use only MiTek MSA1430 or MSA1465 screws.

MiTek’s Boomerang Connector provides a strong and economical connection between cut-off trusses and boomerang girders, or between large jack trusses and hip trusses. They are also the most economical connection for medium span cut-off trusses and are suitable for both single and double mitre cut jack/cut-off trusses. Boomerang Connectors can be bent to suit any intersecting truss skew angle between 17° and 80° with one size fitting both left and right-handed truss intersections.

The MiTek BearingPlate improves the crushing resistance of wall plates under heavily loaded trusses. The positioning of a MiTek ConnectorPlate onto the bottom chord of the truss above the BearingPlate will also improve the crushing resistance of the bottom chord to match the wall plate. BearingPlates are simple to install and may be fitted before or after a truss is positioned. Only 4 (MiTek) nails are required for fixing. One size may be used for either 70mm or 90mm wall framing, and with either single or double trusses.
