Canon Australia launches Digital Colour Press imagePRESS C10000VP / C8000VP

Today, Canon Australia is proud to launch the Canon imagePRESS C10000VP series, meeting the demand for a solution with outstanding output quality and color consistency, designed to support a wide range of media types and weights. Featuring proven technologies from the successful imagePRESS product line-up and adding new technologies, the imagePRESS C10000VP series delivers vibrant, stable output, maintains high productivity and smoothly integrates into existing workflows for franchise, in-plants, quick printers, transaction and direct mail service providers alike.

Able to provide output with fast turnaround times, the imagePRESS C10000VP series is a steadfast companion ready to help busy production printers meet critical deadlines that is essential to success for a printer. Incorporating dual fixing technology to maintain high productivity, even on long runs jobs, the imagePRESS delivers high-quality output with a robust print speed of up to 100 images-per-minute (ipm) for the imagePRESS C10000VP and 80 ipm for the imagePRESS C8000VP. For heavy duty environments, the imagePRESS C10000VP can support a monthly duty cycle of up to 1.8 million prints. Additionally, the Series offers easily replaceable operator maintenance parts and an extended lifetime of key parts, helping to increase uptime and reduce the number of service calls needed.

Consistently Vibrant Output

The imagePRESS C10000VP Series includes a number of features to enhance output quality:

  • The combination of the new CV toner and advanced Intermediate Transfer Belt (ITB), allows for smooth image transfer and enables the imagePRESS to consistently deliver colour-rich prints on a wide variety of media even with textured surface.
  • The imagePRESS’ R-VCSEL laser scanner unit creates crisper, more precise images, with up to 2400dpi x 2400dpi print resolution.
  • The real time automatic calibration Multi D.A.T (Multi Density Adjustment Technology) and in-line spectroscopic sensor automatically corrects for disparities in gradation and provides more accurate feedback to the engine for consistent color reproduction.

Flexible Application

The imagePRESS C10000VP Series can run media of up to 350gsm, with outstanding output quality, even on textured or specialty stock. The Series’ New air knife enables the engine to run thinly coated media as light as 70gsm suited for applications such as direct mail.

The imagePRESS C10000VP Series supports all in-line finishing available for the imagePRESS C7011VP series incorporating a new paper folding unit and professional puncher.The new professional puncher can support broader range of media sizes and weights than previous models. Additionally, a new creasing capability provides high quality appearance on half folded leaflets and saddle stitched booklets.

Streamlining Workflow

The Series offers users a selection of digital front end options, including PRISMAsync and imagePRESS Server powered by EFI Fiery. The latest versions of the platforms allow the system to integrate seamlessly into any type of workflow or environment. The Fiery imagePRESS Server delivers substantial gains in efficiency such as more accurate color reproduction. Fiery imagePRESS server also includes notable improvements in ease of use and fleet integration, with Fiery JDF helping commercial and digital printers reduce costs and improve service.

Canon’s PRISMAsync controller streamlines production by making document and transaction print operations more intuitive. Operators can conveniently manage and run jobs of multiple presses easily from one location with the unique Job Scheduler and Remote Manager features. PRISMAsync incorporates an in-RIP G7® calibration method which allows you to achieve near neutral print condition more easily. Also, Oce DPlink easily allows for seamless integration into Xerox FreeFlow MakeReady environments.

Availability

The Canon imagePRESS C10000VP Digital Presses are already available and ready for demonstration in the Macquarie Park, Sydney Showroom.

Canon Australia Product Marketing Manager Anjana Maikap said they had already installed a number of machines nationally and have prospective customers in the pipeline.

“We will be inviting prospective customers for face to face demonstrations in our Mac Park Sydney Showroom and will have the machine on display at PacPrint in Melbourne.”
